Privacy Policy for Mobile IC Checker
Last updated: August 5, 2026
1. Introduction
Mobile IC Checker ("we," "our," or "the app") is a utility that decodes memory chip part numbers (such as eMMC, eMCP and UFS) to show details like storage size, RAM, type and brand. Decoding runs fully on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
By using the app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Stored on Your Device (Local Only)
The app stores the following data only on your device in local storage. We do not upload this to our servers:
- Recent scans / history - The part numbers you have looked up, kept so you can revisit them
- App preferences - Such as your chosen language and any tips you have dismissed
- Rate dialog status - Whether you have already been asked to rate the app
No account or sign-in is required to use the app. Your lookup history stays private on your phone.
2.2 Chip Decoding (On-Device)
When you enter or select a part number, the app decodes it using a built-in offline database. The part numbers you check are processed only on your device to produce the result and are not sent to us.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information (Third-Party Services)
The app requires internet access only for advertising and analytics. When you use the app, the following third-party services may collect information as described in their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob (ads): The app shows ads via Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers (such as advertising ID), approximate location, and usage data to show and measure ads. You can control ad personalization in your device settings (for example, "Opt out of Ads Personalization").
- Firebase Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (for example, which features are opened and general usage patterns) so we can improve it. This uses aggregated, non-identifying event and device data.
- Firebase Crashlytics: We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and technical diagnostics (for example, device model, OS version, stack traces). This helps us fix bugs and does not include your name or contact details unless such data appears in an error message.
- Microsoft Clarity: We use Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymized usage analytics such as screen interactions and session behavior (heatmaps) to improve the app's usability. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide the chip lookup and decoding features
- Remember your preferences and recent scans
- Show and manage ads (via Google)
- Understand usage and improve the app (via Firebase Analytics and Microsoft Clarity)
- Analyze crashes and improve stability (via Crashlytics)
- Comply with applicable law and protect our rights
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only as follows:
- Google (AdMob, Firebase): As needed for ads, analytics and crash reporting, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft (Clarity): As needed for usage analytics, subject to Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
- Legal: When required by law, court order, or to protect our or others' rights and safety.
- Business transfer: In the event of a merger, sale, or transfer of assets, under the same privacy protections.
5. Data Retention and Security
- Local data: Stored on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data.
- Analytics, crash and ad data: Retained according to Google's and Microsoft's policies.
We use standard technical and organizational measures to protect data; no system is completely secure.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Ad personalization: You can limit or opt out of personalized ads in your device's advertising/privacy settings.
- Clear history: You can clear your recent scans within the app or by clearing the app's data.
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data from your device.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or other regions with similar laws, you may have additional rights (for example, access, correction, deletion, portability, objection). Contact us using the details below to exercise them.
7. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or higher age where required). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International Data
Your data may be processed in the country where you use the app and in countries where our service providers (for example, Google and Microsoft) operate. By using the app, you consent to such transfer and processing.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the app or on our website and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
